Thanks for reading my blog.
Jasiri is about doing difficult, daring things. It's about innovation and optimism.
I've worked in international development for nearly twenty years. I understand the scale of the challenge, and still believe that change is possible. I know you have your doubts about charity effectiveness. I'll write a bit about that, what works and what doesn't. And I'll share some of the insider stories of amazing people I've met who are transforming their communities.
Jasiri is also about self-development, so I'll be writing about mindfulness, productivity and minimalism and the best of inspiration from the rest of the web.
I love this quote from Anne Frank - you can start here - right now! If this blog inspires you to make positive changes in your own life, or to be a bit bolder and a bit more generous in helping others, then that is what it is here for.
P.S. If you came to this page to find out 'who I am' - I'm 39, married with three children. I live in Bedford ('surprisingly nice'!) and work in Tanzania on girls' education and entrepreneurship. I'm equally happy with words or Excel spreadsheets, which is apparently unusual. I'm all about the story that the data tells.
I'm also working on Jasiri Elimu: a professional development blog for teachers in Tanzania, due for launch in May.
